SoothSage is a personal health tracking app designed to keep your health information local to your device whenever possible. This Privacy Policy explains what information SoothSage stores, what information may be transmitted when you use scan features, and how that information is used.
SoothSage does not require an account or sign-in.
Health records that you enter, import, scan, or save in the app are stored locally on your device. This may include information such as:
SoothSage is designed to store saved health history locally on your device rather than in a SoothSage user account or server database.
SoothSage includes scan features that allow you to use your camera or photo library to analyze images such as:
When you choose to analyze a scan, the app sends the selected image, scan type, measured or captured date and time, time zone, and any optional note you enter to SoothSage’s scan service.
SoothSage’s scan service temporarily processes the uploaded image and forwards it to OpenAI for AI-based analysis. The scan image is temporarily stored on the SoothSage server only as needed to perform the analysis and is deleted after processing.
The AI service returns structured results, such as detected readings, food details, lab values, prescription details, or activity details. Those results are returned to the app for your review. You should review detected values before saving them.
SoothSage uses OpenAI to analyze scan images. Images submitted for scanning may contain health-related or personal information depending on what you choose to scan.
The scan request is sent to OpenAI for analysis. SoothSage does not use OpenAI scan processing to sell your data or build advertising profiles. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train or improve its models unless the API customer opts in.
Scan images are temporarily transmitted only when you choose to use a scan feature.
Like most web services, SoothSage’s server may create standard operational logs when scan requests are processed. These logs may include information such as IP address, request path, date and time, response status, user agent, and error information.
These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and service operation. They are not used to build advertising profiles or to sell personal information.
SoothSage subscriptions are handled through Apple’s App Store.
Payment information, billing, renewals, and cancellation are managed by Apple. SoothSage does not receive or store your credit card information.
The app may check subscription entitlement status to determine whether the app is unlocked after the trial period.
SoothSage may request access to your camera or photo library so you can choose or capture images for scanning.
Images are not sent for analysis until you choose a scan image and tap the analyze button. Scan results are returned to the app for your review before saving.
Because SoothSage stores health data locally on your device, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your device and any exported SoothSage data.
If you delete the app, local app data may be removed by iOS. If you export your data, that exported file is under your control and should be stored securely.
SoothSage is intended for personal tracking and organization only.
SoothSage does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-extracted scan results may be incomplete or incorrect. Always review values before saving them and consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
If you believe you may have a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately.
SoothSage is not intended for use by children without appropriate parent or guardian supervision. SoothSage does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a user account system.
